Carp Fishing With Luncheon Meat

A lot of people swear by luncheon meat but the problem with it is keeping it on the hair, you could probably put it a hook if you were just going to drop it in the margins. Obviously a hair rig is a much better option especially if you are casting any sort of distance.

One of the ways to keep luncheon meat on the hair is to use a piece of plastic tubing, simply put the hair through some plastic tubing and then and then attach it to your hair. The tubing should prevent the live from cutting into the luncheon meat making it come off. You can use rubber tubing as well and this should work just as well. Once you have the luncheon meat attached with the tubing in place simply give it a good cast and then bring it in slowly to check that it has stayed on. Another thing is to cunt the luncheon meat into squares and leave it in the sun for a little while, this should make it slightly harder which will help even more. So don’t be afraid to try luncheon meat as it is a good bait and once you have mastered how to keep it on you should be able to bag some nice carp on it.
